Driving instructor
Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
As a driving instructor/monitor, you will be responsible for teaching practical and theoretical driving skills in order to train drivers to behave safely, cooperatively and responsibly in accordance with the SAAQ’s Road Safety Education Program. You will guide the learner driver during driving exercises in various traffic conditions. You will help them identify their strengths and weaknesses and correct them. Finally, you will need to evaluate each learner’s learning at the end of each session.
Language of instruction: English

Driving monitor (Rehabilitation assistant)
Permanent Reporting to the Program Manager, this position acts as a driving instructor during on-road assessments with the program’s occupational therapists.
With the objective of obtaining driving privileges to optimize reintegration into society, he provides education and rehabilitation of users with functional impairments in a clinical setting according to an intervention plan established in collaboration with occupational therapists.
Act as a driving instructor during roadside assessments with occupational therapists;
Collaborate with occupational therapists when meeting with the client to explain the results of their roadside assessment;

Advantages
Summary description of tasks
- Provide training lessons with the facility's vehicles to clients who need them;
- Install and operate appropriate equipment (hand controls, slave controls, etc.) in facility vehicles;
- Make contacts, when required, with vehicle adaptation suppliers to ensure maximum performance of equipment;
- Manage the rental of a manual transmission vehicle with the program's target driving schools for the purpose of conducting a client's on-road evaluation or training;
- Participate in departmental program meetings as needed;
- Participate in the "intervention plan" for certain clients when necessary;
- Present the vehicles and their equipment during visits organized at the establishment (e.g.: fundraising campaigns, corporate visits, partners) when necessary.

- 3 years experience as a driving instructor is an asset
